Wes Bean

Wes Bean brings more than 20 years of collaborative business leadership, deep knowledge of all aspects of the CPG retail industry, and a strong track record of delivering insightful solutions that drive bottom-line impact for leading US retailers and CPG brands.

Wes has a deep understanding of the dramatically shifting grocery landscape and advertisers’ evolving needs, leading the team responsible for strategically leveraging Catalina’s diversified omnichannel solutions to help our partners understand and influence shopping behavior to fuel their growth.

Since joining Catalina in 2018, Wes has held a series of senior leadership roles, including Chief Retail Officer, SVP of Catalina’s Global Network, where he focused on growing network content and expanding into new retail sectors; and GVP of Global Business Transformation, restructuring the company’s cost structure, organizational design, internal processes, and vendor relationships. He also oversaw global contract negotiations.

Previously, Wes served as VP of Global Supply Chain at APR Energy LLC, a private equity-backed energy company focused on Fast Track power solutions with operations in 20 countries. Earlier, Wes served as VP of Own Brands, Pricing Strategy, and Data Integrity for Southeastern Grocers LLC, where he led the integration of merchandising and pricing systems during the Winn-Dixie/ Bi-Lo merger. While there, Wes transformed the $1.1B private label business to its highest-ever levels of profitability, developed the Strategic Sourcing organization, and led Winn-Dixie’s Sustainability initiatives.

Wes began his career with Walmart, where he held several leadership positions, including Director of Global Business Development, Director of Strategic Sourcing, Deputy Director of International Trade Development, and Manager of Global Training for Asia. By creating the Global Indirect Spend Center of Excellence, Wes helped Walmart leverage its buying potential across international markets and aggressively expanded non-food related private label development and sourcing. He also represented the company with major NGOs (United Nations, UNCTAD, Intracen, OECD).

Having lived or worked in more than 20 international markets, Wes’s professional background is supported by a degree in International Studies/Politics & Diplomacy from the University of Richmond; an MBA in International Business from CIMBA (Italy); and postgraduate studies in Trade, Economics & Negotiations at Harvard’s JFK School of Government, Digital Marketing through MIT, and Organizational Leadership through Oxford University’s SAID School of Business. Wes is currently pursuing post-graduate studies through the London School of Economics.

He currently serves as the President Board of Directors of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Tampa Bay and is a mentor of the Take Stock in Children program. Wes and his wife, Susan, live in St. Petersburg, FL, and have two children. Wes enjoys participating in triathlons, kayaking, mountain climbing and kick boxing.
