Moira Hinson

Moira brings 20+ years of strategic communications and marketing leadership in corporate, agency and nonprofit settings to her role leading Catalina’s talented Marketing team, which is responsible for elevating Catalina’s brand and offerings in the marketplace.

Since 2013, Moira has held a series of roles of increasing responsibility for Catalina, most recently serving as VP of Marketing and Communications. Recognized for her highly refined writing, editing and storytelling skills for all audiences, Moira partners closely with cross-functional leaders to connect dots and craft high-impact narratives in their authentic voice to drive understanding, alignment and engagement with team members and clients. She has expertise across the corporate communications spectrum, from C-suite speeches and messaging to employee communications, public relations, marketing communications, branding and public affairs. Moira was instrumental in developing the company’s Values.

Moira began her career in Atlanta as an Account Executive with Fleishman-Hillard, consistently ranked one of the world’s top three public relations and communications firms, where she worked with national and regional companies across several industries and grew into a strategic communications adviser who values holistic thinking, mutually beneficial collaboration, and adherence to the highest ethical and professional industry standards.

Later, she joined Tampa-based Tucker-Hall, a leading communications and crisis firm, where she worked in partnership with the firm’s leaders as Senior Account Executive, advising a variety of local and regional clients on communication strategy and media relations.

Before joining Catalina, Moira served as Director of Development and Communications as a member of The Salvation Army’s Tampa Area Command, where she was responsible for all fundraising, internal and external communications, marketing, community relations, events, grant writing, speech writing, board development, special events, mobile media campaigns and video production. She built a strong Advisory Board of highly engaged philanthropists; managed multi-year partnerships with the Tampa Bay Rays, Tampa Yankees, Tampa Lightning; and was appointed to the prestigious National Communications Consortium to advise on national communications and donor relations issues.

Earlier in her career, she wrote bi-monthly feature profiles based on interviews conducted with interesting Tampa Bay area business owners and senior executives for Tampa Bay Metro magazine.

Moira earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the University of Georgia. She has received the Fleishman-Hillard Team Player of the Year Award and the Fleishman-Hillard Quality Assurance Award. She was also part of a small team recognized with a PRSA Phoenix Award (Feature Release), an IABC Golden Flame (Special Event), and a PRSA Phoenix Award Certificate of Excellence.

Moira is passionate about supporting charities dedicated to animal welfare and serves as a member of Catalina’s Charitable Foundation and Animal & Environmental Services CARE Team.
