EVP, General Counsel
Tammy Meyer joined Catalina in March 2015 as General Counsel, responsible for leading the legal function, serving as a strategic adviser on domestic and international matters, and managing relationships with outside legal counsel, government officials and third parties.
Prior to joining Catalina, Meyer was divisional SVP and chief litigation counsel for Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC), operating Blue Cross Blue Shield health plans in Illinois, Texas, Montana, New Mexico and Oklahoma. She managed litigation, served as general counsel for the company’s Illinois division, and led HCSC’s Technology Law/IP practice, and Records and Information Management program. Previously, Meyer served as VP of litigation, global public affairs and government relations for the Kellogg Company.
Meyer was a commercial litigation partner with Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal (now Dentons), and a tax litigation associate with Baker & McKenzie. She also taught international taxation as an adjunct professor at Northwestern University Law School. Prior to law school, Meyer was a CPA with the Chicago offices of Ernst & Whinney and Checkers, Simon & Rosner.
Her academic accomplishments include a B.B.A. in accounting, Loyola University; an M.S. in taxation, DePaul University: and a J.D., Northwestern University Law School. Meyer serves on the boards of Women’s Bar Foundation, Girl Scouts of Greater Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana, HFS Chicago Scholars and Girls Rock! Chicago.
She is married and has a daughter.
