The US Coast Guard has issued security measures for all passenger vessels. All passengers sixteen years or older must have photo identification or they may not be permitted to board the vessel. Please be sure to have photo identification when checking in at the ticket counter and when boarding. All baggage must have an identification tag and is subject to physical inspection.

Island Express Helicopter Service
Take the 710 freeway to the Queen Mary (follow the signs that say Port of Long Beach or Queen Mary the freeway ends there) enter the Queen Mary parking lot entrance. Keep to the right and follow the signs saying heliport. They will take you to the last parking lot. Park on the right side and the new offices are about 200 feet from the parking area. You will have to walk across a service road so be careful of the traffic. You can also take the service road on the right side of the Queen Mary parking lot ticket entrance to our location for pick up and drop off.

Catalina Express
Queen Mary: Take the Long Beach Freeway (710) south. Follow all signs to the Queen Mary. Enter the Queen Mary parking lot and follow the blue line.
Downtown at Catalina Landing: Take the Long Beach Freeway (710) south into Long Beach. Stay to the left, follow signs to downtown and exit Golden Shore. Turn right at stop sign, follow around to Terminal on the right. Parking in parking structure on the left.


Catalina Classic Cruises, Catalina Express and Island Express Helicopter Service are all located in the Catalina Air Sea Terminal Building, directly beneath the Vincent Thomas bridge.

Island Express Helicopter Service and Catalina Express, and Catalina Classic Cruises: Harbor Freeway (110) south to the "Terminal Island-Long Beach" exit. Cross Harbor Blvd. and follow signs to parking. If you're coming from Long Beach you can take Ocean Blvd. west, cross over the Vincent Thomas bridge, and take the Harbor Blvd. exit.


Catalina-Marina Del Rey Flyer From 405 Fwy, take CA-90 WEST toward Marina Del Rey. Turn LEFT onto Lincoln Blvd. Turn RIGHT onto Fiji Way. Ferry departs from the El Torito Dock directly in front of the restaurant.


The boat leaves from the Balboa Pavillion, a Southern California landmark.

From San Diego: Take the Santa Ana (5) Freeway north, to the San Diego (405) Freeway north, to the Newport (55) Freeway south. The 55 ends and becomes Newport Blvd, which ends and becomes Balboa Blvd. Follow until Balboa Pavillion. Turn left on Main St. for the terminal or turn right on Palm Street for long term parking (7 dollars a day).
From LA: take the San Diego (405) Freeway south to the Newport (55) Freeway south, then see above.
From Riverside/San Bernandino: take the Artesia (91) Freeway west to the Newport (55) Freeway south and follow above.


Catalina Express
From Los Angeles - Take I-5 Freeway South & exit at Pacific Coast Highway.
From San Diego
- Take I-5 Freeway North & exit at Beach Cities, Highway #1 off the ramp.
Take a left at the signal, (Dana Point Harbor Drive) then left at Golden Lantern, which dead ends at Dana Harbor parking lot.

From The L.A. Bus Station, or Union Station
The Blue Line lightrail runs to the Transit Mall on First Street in Long Beach. Transfer to the free Long Beach Downtown Runabout (Route C) for a ride to the Queen Mary, next to the Express boats and Helicopter landing. Runabout Route C cruises between the downtown Transit Mall and the Queen Mary across the bay from 5:30am until midnight, seven days a week.
