Join us for one of our special excursions and really experience Catalina Island! No previous kayak experience is necessary. All expeditions are led by skilled kayak guides trained in first aid & CPR. Emphasis is on the Natural History of Catalina Island, its original inhabitants, ecology and the restoration efforts of the Catalina Island Conservancy. All trips leave from DBOS, at the Descanso Beach Club.
Daily trips range in length from 1-1/2 hour evening paddles under the stars/moonlight to all day excursions with lunch and snorkeling. All expeditions utilize open-deck sea kayaks and paddles matched to your experience level, with instruction and safety orientation prior to each departure. Decked Kayaks are available for qualified renters. All gear is included: lights for evening paddles, dry sacks for cameras, paddle pants and jackets (if the weather dictates), snack and bottled water.
Packages are available, featuring Hotel, Transportation and Kayaking. One of the most popular is the Catalina Island Natural History Package: two nights hotel, round trip boat, semi-sub Undersea Tour, Catalina Island Conservancy Jeep Eco-tour, and Fox Canyon Kayak expedition with nature walk. All package prices vary according to season and time of week, complete schedules are available.
Groups - Scouts, schools, or corporate groups are one of our specialties. Sixty or more can be accommodated on a Journey to Frog Rock, or Willow Cove Lunch & Snorkel Expedition.
Camping Trips include everything except your personal items and sleeping bag. The 2-day/1-night Goat Harbor outing is suitable for novice and expert kayaker alike - a perfect family trip ("...and the food is great!"). Longer camping trips have paddling prerequisites. We can also help you plan a custom camping trip.
A Charter Boat is available for trips to remote Catalina paddling sites, and can comfortably accommodate 4 to 6 persons."AMA" may also carry campers, kayaks and gear to the primitive camp sites or campgrounds.
Kayak and Snorkel Rentals by the hour, day or overnight. Also wetsuits, boogie boards and more.
